Jervonne Newsome graduated with honors from Arkansas State University where she earned her B.A. in political science and philosophy. As a student, Jervonne received the Top Political Science Student Award and the Distinguish Service Award. She also became captain of the Arkansas Moot Court Team, where she won several top oral advocate awards and won the regional championship. Seizing this passion for the law, Jervonne went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville, graduating summa cum laude.
During law school, Jervonne was a Note and Comment Editor on the Arkansas Law Review and worked as a teaching assistant in Civil Procedure and Torts. Jervonne also received numerous awards for her academic and professional endeavors. The law school recognized her as a Charles Thomas Pearson Fellow and scholarship recipient and honored her with the High Academic Achievement Award, the James H. Mckenzie Award for Professional Responsibility and Ethics, and the T.C. and Rosemary Carlson Memorial Award for Constitutional Law.
Before joining Lynn Pinker Cox & Hurst, LLP, Jervonne clerked for the Honorable Bobby E. Shepherd of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the Honorable Denzil Price Marshall Jr. of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
Jervonne is a motivational speaker for young women and youth. She also enjoys playing the piano for church and various community events.
Jervonne is licensed to practice in Texas and Arkansas.
