Michael K. Hurst

Lawyer of the Year. Top 100 Lawyers in Texas. Benchmark Litigation Star. Top 15 Business Defenders. One of the Best Lawyers in America. Michael K. Hurst has consistently been recognized as one of the top trial lawyers in the country for large and high-stakes commercial and intellectual property litigation—and has won many high-profile verdicts. His extensive courtroom experience includes large claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, and theft of trade secrets. Many of his cases involve partnership disputes, non-compete agreements, fraudulent transfers, and include class-actions across many industries, including private equity, energy, financial and investment banking, and oil and gas.

Michael is viewed as an esteemed leader both in and out of the courtroom. He’s Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and also by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, is a member of the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates, International Society of Barristers, and served as President of the 11,000+ member Dallas Bar Association in 2018. He was named Outstanding Mentor by both the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and the Texas Young Lawyers Association, and in 2012, was elected to the prestigious BTI Client Service All-Stars. Michael is also the only male lawyer ever awarded the Louise B. Raggio Award by the Dallas Women’s Lawyers’ Association.

A patriot to the system, Michael is passionate about preserving the civil jury trial system. He frequently speaks on panels and provides keynotes on trial skills, business litigation topics, and important community issues.
